How Fans Describe Pancake Princess:

  • I can’t tell you how much I love your blog. Before it was so hard choosing a recipe when I wanted to bake something new. And I was constantly worrying about if I was making the right choice going with one recipe versus another. Your bake offs give me such confidence, and I can pick recipes based on my taste. I recently took the winning apple pie crust from the flour bakery and put it in the bon appetit filling which got 2nd I believe, but sounded more suited to my taste. OMG!!!!! I’m making the winning recipe from your coffee cake right now. This blog is one of the most refreshing things I’ve ever seen in the online baking community. Thank you soooo much!! You have helped me become a better baker. ❤️ – Caleb
  • Of all the blogs I follow, I like yours the best. It’s very educational and I get a lot more out of it than a recipe. The comparisons of the recipes from various blogs/books are very helpful in determining the differences between them side by side. Maybe one day we will see a Rugelach bake-off (hint, hint) – Mike
  • Think I’ve mentioned this before but you’re truly the reason why I’ve become a better baker! Not only do you make deciding which recipe to you 10x easier with your bake offs but I love all of the tips and tricks you’ve shared that can really bring my baking to the next level 🙂 – Daniel

I really enjoy your bakeoffs. And here’s an idea for something I haven’t seen on here yet—how about a French silk pie bakeoff? 😏

will you guys do any matcha recipe bake offs? i love anything matcha but can never find a good recipe because there’s just so few and no reviews. It’s also so tricky because it can’t simply be used in place of cocoa powder since they are fundamentally different.

I love the way you guys do a full analysis on every recipe all the way down to each ingredient, and I think it would be so awesome if you did a study on something matcha!

I was looking for the best chocolate chip recipe in your comparisons. It would be nice if you would just post the recipe so we don’t have to go to that website and pay $50 to access it. Hell no. You have a great website and recipes but no way would I pay that just to get to Cooks Illustrated.

Hi there! Fellow viewer here 🙂 May I suggest a pizza bake off? There are so many recipes out there, some even call for a cold rise lasting several days to a whole week! I’m really curious how much that process affects the flavor. Would love to see the results! Thanks!

Pizza has been on my list for years but it’s a tricky one so I haven’t tackled it yet–but thank you for the nudge, will definitely consider bumping it up the list!

I do have a carrot cake bake off as well as a lemon poppy seed (and lemon loaf) bake off! But will definitely consider a plain lemon cake bake off!

    Hello!

I’m so excited to find your “bake off” recipe comparisons. Recipes can have all kinds of ratings, but a group of people reviewing several of the recipes is a game changer.

I would love for a lemon layer cake bake off! So many of my friends and family members love lemon cake, but i STRUGGLE to find a good recipe. Nothing seems to work quite right.

    Please help and thank you!

    Hello
I stayed home from workday and had fun reading your brownie and cake bake offs. Have you heard of SugarGeekz as a potential source for recipes to compare. A lady at work made one of the SugarGeekz white cakes. It was awesome. We devoured it.

Have you ever thought about using your approach to identify long lost recipes? I am trying to find a recipe for a particular cookie I tasted as a child that had peanuts, cherries and sultanas in a quite shortbread type pastry.

Such an interesting idea, I’d love to try! But it would be hard without having tasted the original.
